CACF Announces Rollout of Innovative Healing-Centered Youth Workshop Series at Eight AAPI Organizations Across New York City
The Coalition for Asian American Children and Families (CACF) and eight of our Members and Partners are pleased to announce the launch of our much-anticipated Healing-Centered Youth Workshop Series, a first-of-its-kind initiative that focuses on racial healing and mental health for Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) young people.
Report: AAPI Parent Guided Conversations on Education (2022)
The Coalition for Asian American Children and Families (CACF) held a series of parent guided conversations with a diverse group of Asian American parents and families, largely limited English proficient, low-income, and/or immigrant, who regularly interfaced with a range of direct service community-based organizations (CBOs.) We sought to understand the needs, concerns, hopes, and dreams Asian American parents have regarding their children’s education and identify the challenges they face in the New York City public education system.
CACF Statement on New York State's $20M Investment in AAPI Community
The Coalition for Asian American Children and Families (CACF) and Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community-based organizations across the State applaud a $20 million investment, specifically allocated to support diverse AAPI communities across New York State. This historic funding, administered through the Department of State, will help address the rise in anti-Asian violence and the traumatic impacts of COVID-19 on the AAPI community. In the face of these growing challenges impacting the AAPI community, New York State’s commitment to AAPI New Yorkers is a crucial step towards ensuring that our diverse communities are no longer overlooked and under-resourced.
AAPI Community Leaders Make Final Push in Albany for Historic $64.5 Million AAPI Equity Budget
As leaders in Albany continue to work on a broader New York State budget agreement, staffers from the Coalition of Asian American Children and Families (CACF) and our partners at the Center for the Integration and Advancement of New Americans (CIANA), the Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC), and the Korean-American Family Service Center (KAFSC) headed to the Capitol Monday to make a final push for the AAPI Equity Budget, a historic investment that would significantly bolster New York State’s growing AAPI community.
The 18% And Growing Campaign Kicks Off Its 14th Annual Asian American Pacific Islander City Advocacy Week
On Monday, March 28th, the 18% and Growing Campaign successfully kicked off its 14th Annual Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) City Advocacy Week. Led by the Coalition for Asian American Children and Families (CACF), the 18% and Growing Campaign brings together over 60 AAPI-led and -serving community-based organizations across all five boroughs of New York City to fight for a fair and equitable City Budget that protects the needs of our most vulnerable AAPI community members.
A Full Recovery from the COVID-19 Pandemic Requires an Investment in New York’s AAPI Communities
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a disproportionate impact on the New York Asian American and Pacific Islander community that requires acknowledgement and equitable support and resources to support communities’ recovery by leadership throughout New York State. Addressing Food Insecurity in our communities through the AAPI Equity Budget
As year three of the pandemic gets into full swing, the need to address the increasing levels of food insecurity amongst New York’s Asian American and Pacific Islander communities becomes more and more apparent.
