Organizational Background: Founded in 1986, the Coalition for Asian American Children and Families (CACF) is the nation’s only pan-Asian children and families’ advocacy organization that brings together community-based organizations as well as youth and parents to fight for equity for Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) children and families. In addition to its work to improve the health and well-being of AAPI children in New York City, CACF works to transform the AAPI community by fostering collaboration, promoting community leadership, and building a collective voice.
Primary Responsibilities
The Senior Health Policy Coordinator will develop and organize support for CACF’s health policy and legislative agenda. The Senior Health Policy Coordinator is a thought leader in the health equity space. This position reports to the Director of Policy and Government Relations and works collaboratively with our Health Partnerships Coordinator. Candidates must be prepared to work closely with policymakers, CACF member agencies and partners, community leaders, elected and appointed officials and other advocacy organizations.
Policy/Advocacy
Lead/Co-lead campaigns to improve healthcare policies, funding, and services for AAPI, immigrant communities (including limited English proficient communities) and other communities of color.
Conduct policy research and analysis, including community needs assessments, as relevant to campaigns and projects.
Externally represent the health policy agenda through written and public testimony, prepare policy memos/factsheets and position papers.
Meeting with and convening CACF stakeholders including member organizations, young people and parents, member agencies to learn about ongoing issues and provide opportunities for information exchange and peer support
Representing CACF as a health leader as well as in City and State health campaigns.
Co-leading on government relations efforts at the City and State level on health.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
Required
Demonstrated expertise in health policy field
Bachelor’s or Masters degree with at least 3-5 years of experience in the health or advocacy field
Commitment to CACF’s mission, public health, children’s rights, and social justice.
Understanding of Asian American Pacific Islander communities and/or non-profit organizations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; persuasive communicator with a keen eye for detail.
Capacities to lead, innovate, break new ground, take risks, and take public stances on issues.
Ability to work with diverse staff and flexibility to work on multiple tasks under pressure.
Interest in legislative, budget, and administrative advocacy and policymaking
Excellent skills in researching and identifying new policy/advocacy opportunities
Ability to set priorities among multiple responsibilities
Preferred
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with varied constituencies, including staff, social service organizations, elected and appointed officials, and government agencies
Ability to write and speak an Asian dialect
Salary and Benefits

Salary:
This is a full-time position. The starting salary is $70,000.

CACF is seeking a full-time Grants & Contracts Associate to support implementation of CACF’s City and State government contracting and sub-contracting programs, which aim to build the capacity of community-based organizations that provide critical culturally competent, language-accessible programs to the diverse AAPI community. The Grants & Contracts Associate will play a vital role in CACF’s Grants & Contracts (G&C) team. This position will report to CACF's Director of Grants & Contracts.
Primary Responsibilities
The Grants & Contracts Associate will join a collaborative and dynamic environment and work with program and policy staff at CACF to execute and implement multiple City and State government funded programs.
The Grants & Contracts Associate will:
Engage in City and State contract execution and implementation procedures for CACF.
Perform invoicing, reporting, and other administrative functions under the supervision of the Director of Grants & Contracts to ensure successful completion of contract requirements.
Provide administrative support to the Senior Contracts Coordinator for the CCNSF and AAPI CDF portfolios; including supporting request for application (RFA) processes.
Monitor and maintain updated paperwork, including various administrative documents to maintain compliance, program reports/forms (in collaboration with program staff), and other related documents connected with contracted programs, as needed.
Assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly administrative reports for all contract related activities, as needed.
Inform relevant staff from CACF and subcontracted organizations about upcoming deadlines and deliverables on a continuous basis to ensure smooth and total completion of work responsibilities.
Support wider CACF administrative functions as related to government contracting (e.g. monitoring timesheet completion and collection).
Candidates must be prepared to work closely with CACF member agencies/partners and government agency staff.
Essential Skills and Abilities

Experience working with government contracts, or enthusiastic interest to learn.
Superior attention to all details.
Excellent organizational skills and expertise with spreadsheets.
Excellent project management skills; experience in managing and supervising administrative projects is a plus.
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce quality results on time.
Good understanding of AAPI communities and non-profit organizations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; persuasive and collaborative communicator.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and provide proactive support to staff.
A multi-tasker with a strong ability to work under pressure.
Financial management skills, including developing/monitoring budgets and financial reporting are a plus.
Proficient in using computers with related knowledge of (or the ability to quickly build capacity in) software programs and the Internet.
Bachelor’s degree plus related experience in government contract administration/management is preferred. Extensive relevant professional experience will be considered.
Periodic travel within New York State may be required.
Salary and Benefits
