CACF Stands Committed to Our Work to Challenge Racism and Build Equitable Systems
Today we reflect on the conviction in the murder of George Floyd, and our hearts go out to his loved ones and community who have relived their trauma through a painful trial. We hope this conviction brings some peace to George Floyd's loved ones and the city of Minneapolis. And we are grateful for all those who mobilized over the past many months, and without whose efforts we may not have seen this outcome.
But we continue -- even after the Chauvin trial began -- to see the forces of racism and hate at work, and the continued deaths of Black and brown people, and more recently Daunte Wright, Adam Toledo, Ma'Khia Bryant, at the hands of those sworn to protect us. We know that the struggle for racial justice and an end white supremacy culture, is far from over.
We as Asian Americans stand with Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and other communities of color to continue challenging anti-Blackness in our society, which ultimately allows for the perpetuation of racial violence towards all communities of color including Asian Americans. CACF stands committed to our work to challenge racism and build equitable systems that are supportive of all New Yorkers, especially those who struggle the most, and our healing and recovery.
