Kumiko Seki

Kumiko joined CACF in September 2015 as In-Person Assistor / Navigator for the Japanese Community. She provides resources and assist health consumers to sign up for health insurance through the New York State of Health Marketplace. Prior to joining CACF, Kumiko served as a medical liaison at the Consulate General of Japan in New York. She worked as a registered nurse at the Japanese Medical Practice at Beth Israel Medical Center where she triaged emergency patients and provided pre-placement exams and immunization counseling for those going overseas. Also she worked as an assistant manager at the Japanese Medical Practice. Kumiko co-founded NYSUKUSUKU-KAI for Japanese new mothers in 2004. She provided Japanese expectant mothers and first time parents breast feeding and childrearing support and information in New York City. She has been conducting lectures to expectant mothers about “what to expect when giving birth in the New York”. Kumiko received her Bachelor’s degree from the City College of New York. She is a registered nurse in New York and also nurse midwife in Japan.
