Denis Yu joined CACF as a Program Associate in June 2017. Her focus is on the development and group dynamics of CACF’s Asian American Student Advocacy Project, with a focus on the inter- and intrapersonal development of the Asian Pacific American high school students involved in the project.
Denis is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Psychology with a minor in Anthropology at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, expected in May 2018. Her academic focus is on developmental disorders and the mental health of Asian American youth.
Denis has previously worked with a research team in Sydney, Australia to study the rates and demographics of female fatalities from domestic violence, and has presented her work at the NYU Global Engagement Symposium. She also currently serves as a global peer mentor at NYU to inspire and guide students through the study abroad experience, including key elements such as their cultural transition and identity development.
