The Education Advocacy Program fights to give Asian Pacific American students the necessary academic and support services they need to succeed. In the NYC Department of Education schools, 1 out of every 5 Asian Pacific American student does not graduate from high school on time or at all; and 1 out of every 4 English Language Learner student is Asian Pacific American. Nearly 2/3 of Asian Pacific American students in NYC come from homes where language other than English is spoken.

CACF works with immigrant advocates to ensure that Department of Education’s Translation and Interpretation Unit services reach Asian Pacific American students and families and to ensure that there are culturally competent resources and support for English Language Learners.
