CACF-led Data Disaggregation campaign “Invisible No More” pushes for comprehensive reforms to include Asian Pacific American demographic categories in city and state agency applications, forms, and studies.
There are 1.1 million Asian Pacific Americans living in New York City, but when government agencies collect and issue reports, this diverse population is often not mentioned, or grouped into the generic categories of “Asian”, “Other” or even “White”. Bills Intro 251 (Dromm) proposes that the New York city and state agencies utilize a standard approach to data collection, disaggregation, and reporting on Asian Pacific Americans.
