Budget Advocacy

The Budget Advocacy Program advocates for higher and more equitable appropriation of public funding to expand essential services to underserved Asian Pacific American communities in New York City. This includes reforming the city’s Request for Proposal (RFP) evaluation process to invest more in culturally competent and language accessible services from community-based organizations.

CACF leads the 15% and Growing Coalition, and partners with the Asian American Federation, Black Agency Executives, Hispanic Federation and the New York Urban League to increase discretionary funding coming from city council to Asian Pacific American and other minority community-based and non-profit organizations. In the last 4 years, funding has increased by 110% and we have co-organized 6 annual Asian Pacific American City Advocacy Days.
