Communications and Outreach Coordinator
Jean Hon joined CACF in 2018 as the Communications and Outreach Coordinator. Working with CACF co-executive members and CACF staff, Jean builds CACF’s communications strategy, grows the organization’s programmatic and funding visibility to its members, and strengthens CACF’s messaging throughout its organizational pursuits.
She hails from a sales and marketing background in the food industry where she drove sales growth in the Northeast for sustainable and environmentally conscious food companies. Jean successfully signed accounts like Google Cambridge, YouTube, and Northshore Farms. Her targeted outreach, marketing and on-the-ground campaigning led to a 245% increase in sales. Ultimately, her work with these companies stirred a desire to return to her love of nonprofit and community policy work.
In 2014, Jean served on a 4 person team with NYU and UNESCO to launch and evaluate the first-ever Futures and Foresight seminar in Sierra Leone. This seminar built outreach between key stakeholders throughout Sierra Leone, including Sierra Leonean youth, nonprofit leaders, elected officials, and members from international non-governmental organizations. Through futures and foresight work, they actively listened to the problems youth face through the social and cultural shifts stemming back from Sierra Leone’s civil war, and sought collaborative solutions.
Jean founded a community organization, is a Fulbright grantee, and is a Revive the Dream fellow. She holds a BA from Queens College, CUNY and an MPA from New York University Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. She is an avid snowboarder and dog owner.
