Who We Are
The Coalition for Asian American Children and Families (CACF) was founded in 1986 by a group of social service providers who were concerned that New York City’s private and public health, education and human service institutions could not adequately serve the growing number of Asian Pacific American and immigrant families. We incorporated in 1992; and after running only on volunteers, we hired our first executive director in 1995. We have grown to a group of full- and part-time staff, each working tirelessly to create better lives in the community.
Today, CACF is still the only organization of its kind. We invite you to be a part of our journey advocating for the rights of children of all Asian Pacific American backgrounds.
CACF is building a community too powerful to ignore by:
LISTENING so we can identify our community’s needs
UNITING our disparate and diverse community
TRAINING the next generation of leaders for our community
FIGHTING for equal access to funding and services for our community
